The NHL roundup …
COLUMBUS, Ohio ó Viktor Stalberg had the only goal in the shootout and Corey Crawford made 31 saves in the Chicago Blackhawks’ 4-3 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday night.
The two points were precious for the defending Stanley Cup champs. The Blackhawks are eighth in the Western Conference, three points ahead of Calgary for the final playoff spot.
Devils 4, Flyers 2
NEWARK, N.J. ó Patrik Elias scored his eighth career hat trick and New Jersey kept its faint playoff hopes alive.
Brian Rolston set up all three goals by Elias, rookie Nick Palmieri got the winner midway through the third period and Johan Hedberg made 34 saves in what was a must-win game for the Devils. New Jersey has to win its final five games and get a lot of help or it will miss the playoffs for the first time since 1996.
Flames 3, Blues 2
ST. LOUIS ó Jarome Iginla scored his second goal of the game with 5:03 left to reach 1,000 points and help Calgary rally to beat St. Louis.
