Salisbury Academy students earn writing awards
Two sixth-grade students at Salisbury Academy have won writing awards in the Greater Cabarrus Reading Associationís Young Authorsí Competition.
Sharmi Amin and Isabella Alvarez won for their poetry. Aminís poem was titled ěIf I Was Öî Alvarezís piece, ěAudrey Hepburnî has been chosen as a winner in the state level of the competition.
The Greater Cabarrus Reading Association is an organization dedicated to promoting literacy in Cabarrus and Rowan counties. It provides free events, such as ěSuess at Mall,î which celebrates and promotes reading for children of all ages. Each year, Salisbury Academy students participate in the Greater Cabarrus Reading Young Authorsí Competition.
