A Salisbury man was arrested Tuesday after authorities say a woman caught him breaking into her neighbor’s apartment.
Police responded to the call around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday from a woman who lives next to 324 Penn Circle.; The woman reported hearing movement in the apartment, and said she knew the person who lived there wasn’t home.
Police said the woman decided to get out of bed and enter her next-door neighbor’s apartment, where she found a man walking around. When she confronted him, the report said, he said, “My name is Michael, I’m looking for Lucas.”
But a “Lucas” didn’t live there. The man then left.
When police arrived, they checked the apartment and found the man had entered through an open window.
Officers searched the surrounding area and found Michael Kevin Hunt.
Hunt, 29, of 714 Hamilton Drive, was positively identified by the neighbor, and he was charged with felony breaking and entering.
Hunt was given a $20,000 secured bond.
Police asked him about the break-in and Hunt told them he had the wrong apartment, the report said.
