Cody Ludwick, a senior at East Rowan High School, died Saturday of complications from a heart condition.
Friend Jordan McSwain wrote in an e-mail to the Post that Ludwick had open-heart surgery in the summer of 2010 and again recently. 
“All of East Rowan will be affected by the loss of this young man; he has changed everyone’s outlook and in turn, this will be passed on to other schools,” McSwain wrote.
Ludwick’s classmates at East Rowan will take part in a memorial service at the school today.
