North Carolina should follow Illinoisí lead on executions
I would like to commend Gov. Pat Quinn of Illinois for signing into law a bill that will ban executions in his state. Illinois is the 16th state in our country to eliminate capital punishment.
I think that executions should be eliminated in our state (and nationwide) as well. There is no telling how many innocent (and guilty) men, women, and children have been executed over the years.
No government should have the right to strap someone down and take his or her life.
If you consider yourself a Christian, then ask yourself, who would Jesus execute?

Lessons from the past
Regarding the March 10 letter ěGroup critical of Muslims is trying to stir up troubleî:
I can debunk every word of Leland DeMentís arguments, especially the part about Jimmy Carter basing anything on actual facts, with three simple words: Look. At. History.
