Man accused of statutory rape
A Woodleaf man is in jail under a $250,000 secured bond, charged with numerous counts of statutory rape.
Leland Thomas Corso, Jr., 26, of 1875 South River Church Road, was charged with four counts of statutory rape, two counts of indecent liberties with a child and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
According to the arrest report, the alleged acts took place between October 2009 and November 2010, and the victim was 14 years old at the time.
Rowan County Sheriff Detective Clint Mauldin investigated.
