During a reception following the annual State Employees Martin Luther King Jr. Observance Day program today, Administration Secretary Moses Carey will present certificates to representatives of 14 nonprofit agencies that have been selected to receive $2,500 grants from the Martin Luther King Jr. Commission of the N.C. Human Relations Commission.
City of Salisbury Parks and Recreation will receive one of the grants.
The presentation will take place around 1 p.m. in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church, 101 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh.
Grant funds will be used to create or strengthen programs that support the legacy of King, especially those which benefit youth.
The commission received 55 applications this year.
