Weather advisory ends at noon

An update from Emergency Services Chief Frank Thomason:
A winter weather advisory ends at noon, but tonight’s low will be 18 degrees, refreezing any standing water on roadways, causing some added travel hazards into Thursday.
The Rowan County Emergency Operations Center will return to normal day-to-day operation (Level 5) at noon today.
Public safety response agencies are responding to normal calls for service, but some call responses to rural areas slowed due to some secondary roadway snow and ice.
Ten outages were reported by Duke Energy today just north of China Grove.
NCDOT and municipal street crews continue to make significant headway on clearing streets and roads and all major roads are open and mostly clear. Secondary roads continue to improve but some remain covered in snow or ice.
Salisbury Transit is operating on an abbreviated schedule from 10:15 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. today.
Rowan County Courts began at 10 a.m. today.
