A vehicle overturned on Barger Road off Stokes Ferry Road this evening, leaving at least one person injured.
According to Liberty Fire Chief Jabin Honeycutt, one young woman and two young men were riding south in a pickup truck just before 7 p.m. when it swerved and overturned.
Two of the three people were thrown from the vehicle in the single-car wreck, and one appeared to be unconscious, Honeycutt said.
The names of the driver and passengers and the extent of their injuries are not yet known.
All three people involved in the accident were taken to Rowan Regional, where one was then flown to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
While parts of Barger Road road were icy and slick Wednesday, Honeycutt said the cause of the wreck was unclear and there didn’t appear to be ice on the stretch leading up to it.
