The Salisbury Police Department charged a woman early Sunday with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill after she allegedly tried to run over her husband with her car.
Police responded to 2345 Statesville Blvd. Apt. 146 around 2 a.m. Sunday to find Robert Faust, 32, with severe injuries to his right leg above the ankle, as well as other leg injuries. He was taken to Rowan Regional Medical Center for his injuries.
Faust told police he and his wife had earlier been at a party at the American Legion J.C. Price Post on Old Wilkesboro Road where they got into an argument about another woman.
They left and decided to stop at IHOP, arguing the entire way there, the report stated.
When they arrived, Faust called someone to pick him up who took him to his apartment so he could pick up his belongings.
As they arrived at the apartment, so did Faust’s wife, Yvette, who pulled up directly behind the car that had dropped Faust off.
Faust told police he walked over and told her he wanted to get his things. When he turned around and started walking back toward the apartment, he heard his his wife rev up the engine.
The police report said Yvette Faust accelerated toward Faust, struck him and pushed him onto the porch of their apartment.
Yvette Faust was also taken to the hospital for ankle pain and a swollen left eye. She was treated and released, and then taken to the magistrate’s office.
She was charged with driving while impaired and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and held without bond.
Faust was discharged from the hospital Sunday.
