Water line out near Carson High

Although Jesse Carson High School has been affected by a water line break near Interstate 85, school officials says the impact is minimal.
“Everything is operating as normal,” Rita Foil, public information officer for the Rowan-Salisbury School System, said.
School maintenence crews have brought in tanks that hold up to 1,000 gallons of water in order to allow students to flush toilets and wash their hands.
“Students do have access to facilities on the first and second floors of the school,” Foil said.
Bottled water has been delivered to the school for drinking purposes and cafeteria services will not be affected.
Foil said principal Kelly Withers sent out a ConnectED message to all parents to advise them of the situation.
Crews are expected to finish repairs to the water line by noon today.
“We’re hoping by lunch this will all be over,” Foil said.
