Donna and Steve Poteat found this old photograph of a Salisbury trolley car on South Main Street looking north toward the Empire Hotel. The trolley is advertising the movie ‘Way Down East,’ appearing at The Strand, today’s Meroney Theater. ‘Way Down East’ was a D.W. Griffith production starring Lillian Gish which came out in September 1920.
