19-year-old sought on statutory rape charges
A man wanted for statutory rape may be planning to flee to Mexico.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in locating Josue Espinoza Ramos, 19, who previously lived at 1955 Grace Church Road.
Capt. John Sifford said the Sheriff’s Office has multiple warrants charging Ramos with statutory rape.
Investigators say Ramos had sex with a girl under the age of 15. The incidents happened in mid-November in the China Grove area.
The girl’s parents recently found out about what happened and contacted the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
Lt. Chad Moose of the Criminal Investigation Division said Ramos became aware of law enforcement involvement and may have left town.
Ramos is described as being 5 foot, 9 inches, weighing approximately 140 pounds.
Anyone with information on Ramos’ whereabout is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245 or Lt. Chad Moose or Detective Linda Porter at 704-216-8700.
