Stolen brakes bring charges

A Concord man has been charged in a scheme to sell stolen brake drums, defrauding a Salisbury company.
Rowan Sheriff’s Office deputies charged Joe Ray LeMasters, 4768 Club View Drive, with six counts of obtaining property by false pretense.
Capt. John Sifford said LeMasters sold stolen brake drums to Consolidated Truck Parts of 7665 U.S. 52 . Sifford said LeMasters was caught by a private investigator hired by the Volvo-GMC Truck Center.
LeMasters worked for Volvo in Charlotte.
According to investigators, he was using a company vehicle to transport the stolen items.
LeMasters posted $3,000 bond.
