Prep sports: Games called off

Four Rowan County varsity basketball doubleheaders were postponed tonight due to a wintry mix.
East at Carson, North Iredell at South, West at West Iredell and North at West Montgomery will all be played at a later date.
The East-Carson games will be made up Monday.
South’s game against North Iredell was also moved to Monday. The game against Cox Mill on Jan. 7 has been moved to Feb. 1.
West’s game at West Iredell is now set for Jan. 7. West’s doubleheader at North is still on for Monday night, starting at 6 p.m.
Salisbury’s boys were scheduled for a makeup game at East Rowan on Saturday. It was called off.

Saturday’s Rowan County wrestling tournament, scheduled for Saturday at East Rowan, has been postponed until Dec. 29.

The annual Shrine Bowl football game, set for today at 1 p.m. at Wofford University in Spartanburg, S.C., is still scheduled to be played.
West Rowan will have three representatives in the event: running back K.P. Parks, defensive lineman Chris Smith and coach Scott Young.
