Mooresville, artist, author and photographer “Cotton” Ketchie’s first novel, “Little Did They Know,” was released in November.
Ketchie’s first two non-fiction books, “Memories of a Country Boy” and “A Country Boy’s Education” received an enthusiastic response and are considered bestsellers in the world of self-publishing.

N.C. author “Cotton” Ketchie, weaves plenty of local color into this cracking yarn about a web of greed, lust and deceit that unravels with explosive consequences. A great, fast paced addition to the bookshelf of southern thrillers.”
The love story/suspense novel takes place in North Carolina, encompassing Iredell, Wilkes and Alleghany counties.
Ketchie’s Landmark Galleries in downtown Mooresville announced the novel’s release. “Little Did They Know” was first introduced at the Southern Christmas Show in Charlotte Dec 10-22.

Fuller wins grant
Dr. Janice Fuller, Writer-in-Residence and professor of English at Catawba College, has been awarded a Regional Artist Project Grant by the Arts & Science Council.
The funding is made possible through North Carolina Arts Council, the Blumenthal Endowment and the arts councils of Cabarrus, Cleveland, Gaston, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Rutherford and York (SC) counties. A panel from the ASC reviewed 67 applications and selected only 20 recipients.
Fuller’s grant is to be used for her to attend a two-week residency in the summer of 2010 at Ragdale, an artist colony near Chicago, to work on her fourth collection of poetry.
One of Fuller’s poems, “Ellipsis,” was recently nominated for a Pushcart Prize. The poem first appeared in the Wild Goose Poetry Review.
