Jessica Sullivan won the Hurley Elementary School 2009-2010 Spelling Bee Dec. 14. Miyanah Pruitt was the runner-up.
The following fifth-grade students were participants who represented their classrooms: Simeon Caldwell, Carlos Carbajal, Bryce Chapman, Megan Chapman, Emmanuel Neil, Dalton Poteat, Miyanah Pruitt, Tekia Roseborough, Khiana Stringer, Jessica Sullivan, Robert Sullivan, Kaitlyn Vanhoose.
Sullivan will represent Hurley in the Rowan-Salisbury Spelling Bee on Feb. 9.
