A flatbed truck delivering building supplies overturned on Sherrills Ford Road early today, causing a traffic backup.
The driver, Charles W. Raines, 144 Carrigan Road, Troutman, was transported to Rowan Regional Medical Center.

Trooper C.M. Agner of the N.C. Highway Patrol said Raines was driving east on Sherrills Ford Road when the truck went off the road on the right side. He over-corrected, going across the center line and rolling the truck.

Wallboard and other building materials spilled around the truck, which was owned by Colonial Materials of Charlotte.
Agner said Raines did not appear to be seriously injured.
The West Rowan Fire Department assisted at the scene, including handling traffic.
Crews were still clearing the scene around 10 a.m. today.
