Military news

Air Force Airman Scott M. McCourt has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

A 2006 graduate of West Rowan High School, Mount Ulla, McCourt is the son of Daniel McCourt, Cleveland, and Cheryl Falls, Linden, Pa.

Air Force Airman Megan N. McCulloh has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

She is the daughter of Cynthia McCulloh, Woodleaf, and a 2006 graduate of West Rowan High School, Mount Ulla.

Army Reserve Pfc. Brittney D. Reynolds has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

Reynolds is the daughter of Renee Barney of Mocksville. She is a 2006 graduate of Davie County High School, Mocksville.

Army National Guard Pvt. Shelby L. Wallace has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

Wallace is a 2006 graduate of Davie County High School, Mocksville.

Stacy E. Walser, a graduate of South Rowan High School, class of 1993, and the U.S. Air Force Academy, class of 1997, was promoted to major in the U.S. Air Force on Dec. 20.

He is currently assigned to the National Reconnaissance Office near Washington, D.C.
