A China Grove man was arrested Friday after he allegedly hit a man in the back of the head with 3-foot wooden board.

Jose Franciscodelgad Bautista, 18, of 216 West Haven Way is charged with hitting Heliberto Guerrero Nava, 21, in the head with a one foot by 3 foot board during a fight at Lowder’s Mobile Home Park, according to China Grove Police Officer J. Washam.

Nava sustained a 4 inch gash to the back of his head and Rowan County EMS workers checked his condition.

Nava refused to go to the hospital at first; Washam said he wasn’t sure if he went later.

About 50 people were involved in the fight; Washam said late Friday that he wasn’t sure how it started.

The victim’s brother, Jose Guerrero Nava, 31, of 437 Village Park Road, Kannapolis was involved in the fight and has been charged with resisting a public officer.
