Kannapolis students complete Medication Aide Training

Two Kannapolis students completed the Medication Aide Training course at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences Nov. 27.

They are Angeline Digen and Ashley Massey.

The course prepares participants to have the basic competencies to safely provide others their medication in accordance with the N.C. Medication Aide Act. The students are now eligible to sit for the N.C. State Competency Exam for Medication Aide.

After passing the exam, students may be listed on the N.C. Department of Facility Services registry and be employed as a medication aide under the supervision of a licensed nurse in a skilled nursing facility.

Pfeiffer scholarship

Holly Freeman of Rockwell has been awarded the University Scholarship to attend Pfeiffer in the fall of 2007.

The University Scholarship is worth $6,500 per year and is renewable for four years.

Daughter of Russ and Wendy Freeman, she is a senior at Greystone Day School. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Junior Civitan and Student Council.

She plans to major in elementary education.
