East Rowan High School Chorus to present holiday concert Dec. 18

The East Rowan High School Chorus, nearly 200 voices strong, will present a Holiday Concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 18 in the school auditorium.

Three choruses will perform. Chorus 1 will perform selections from different holiday celebrations including: “The Miracle of Hanukkah,” “Noche de Paz” in English and Spanish and “We Need a Little Christmas.”

The Advanced Chorus will perform traditional carols including a jazz version of “Home for the Holidays,” “Carol of the Bells” and “The Most Wonderful Time of Year.”

The national-award-winning Honors Chorus will perform “Good News,” “Mary Did You Know?” and the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s “Messiah.”

The concert is free and open to the public. Dean Orbison is in his 12th year as director of choral activities at East Rowan. For more information, call 704-279-5232, ext. 135.
