The award-winning North Rowan High School Band will present its annual Christmas concert Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the North auditorium.
The program is free, though the audience is asked to bring a canned food item.
The band council students will take all cans donated and give them to the Rowan Helping Ministries.
This will be an “audience-friendly” program featuring seasonal favorites.
Leroy Andersons’ famous “Sleigh Ride” and “Christmas Festival” are two selections that are sure to send out the Christmas spirit. The two are performed world-wide at Christmas time by both bands and orchestras.
Others include Wassons’ mega-medley “Sounds of Christmas,” Rhoads’ “Wishing You a Merry Christmas” and Ployhars’ variation on four French Christmas carols entitled “Noel Francais.”
Rondey Bass is the North Rowan High School principal, and Keith Howe is band director.
