Awards handed out to Spencer firefighters

On Friday, the Spencer Fire Department held its annual Christmas and awards dinner.
Special guests were Mayor Alicia Bean, as well as Aldermen C.E. Spear and Sam Morgan. Also in attendance were retired firefighters Bill Baker, Robert Grubb, John Martin, T. C. Neil Jr., Don Seabastian and Don Wooten.
Service awards were presented to former lieutenant and current Firefighter Jacky Moore in recognition of 20 years of service and to Captain Stacy Baker for 15 years of service.
Firefighter Marcus Stodard was named Rookie Firefighter of the Year. Former Chief and current Captain Jody Everhart received the Veteran Firefighter of the Year Award and Firefighter Mark Beck was presented the Fire Chief’s Award.
It was announced that firefighters Gray Grubb and Don Sells have been promoted to the rank of lieutenant. Each was also presented their badge and bugle pin by Fire Chief Jay Baker.
