Wooten earns Eagle Scout

Mark Keenan Wooten, 15, will receive his Eagle Scout award today at Trinity United Methodist Church, Kannapolis.
A sophomore at Jesse Carson High School, he is the son of Dale and Sharon Wooten of Old Beatty Ford Road. He has earned 29 merit badges and is quartermaster of his troop. He earned the Arrow of Light Award, Order of the Arrow and God and Church Award.
He is a member of the Carson soccer and swim teams, an All County swimmer, on the 4.0 honor roll, and active in the Trinity Methodist youth group.
For his Eagle project, he built three brick pillars for poles to display the U.S. flag, state flag and Carson flag, the first using the school’s design.
