Wind brings down trees and power lines in Rowan

Blustery winds knocked down limbs, trees and utility lines in Rowan County this afternoon.
Duke Energy reported more than 230 outages by 1:30 p.m.
Emergency personnel spent the afternoon clearing streets and dealing with downed trees in Salisbury and Spencer.
Fire departments responded to calls involving minor fires caused by the electrical lines.
Around 2 p.m., Landis Power & Light responded to reports of lines down in the Landis-Kannapolis area.
According to Dusty Mills at the Rowan County Airport, winds gusted up to 30 mph.
