Salisbury City Council proclaimed Tuesday as “Will Collins Day” in Salisbury in honor of the recently graduated Salisbury High senior who won the 2007 North Carolina 2A golf championship for the second year in a row.
Collins was recognized by council Tuesday. He will be attending the University of Virginia this fall on a golf scholarship.
Collins also won the Rowan County high school golf championship and the Central Carolinas Conference individual title.
Salisbury High finished fourth as a team in the state tournament.
