Two face drug charges in separate incidents

A Gold Hill man faces felony charges after a search of his home revealed guns, drugs and drug paraphernalia, authorities say.
Charles Edward Rhodes, 38, of 360 Wyatt Grove Church Road, was charged with three counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, one count of possession with intent to sell a Schedule III controlled substance, one count of possession of cocaine, one count of maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Tuesday, deputies with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Rhodes’ home. During the search, they located and seized three firearms, nine hydrocodone tablets, a small quantity of crack cocaine and several items of drug paraphernalia, according to reports. Rhodes was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond pending a first appearance in court today.A search in a separate case has resulted in drug charges against a China Grove man.
Tuesday, Sheriff’s Office deputies searched the home of Leroy Denard McNeair, 38, of 570 Old Beatty Ford Road, China Grove.
During the search, they found and seized 17 grams of crack cocaine with a street value of $3,400, 3 grams of marijuana, three firearms and $1,860 in cash, according to reports. McNeair was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by felon, one count of possession with intent to sell cocaine, one count of maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances and one count of possession of marijuana.
McNeair was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under $17,500 secured bond pending a first appearance in court today.
