Three take home top prizes in 2008 Faith Idol competition

Competition at this year’s Faith Idol was stronger than ever, judges said.
“The judges said they could easily have picked nine winners,” said Lori Smith, with Carolina Mortgage Place, which helped sponsor the contest.
People crowded under the tent Friday to get out of the rain and listen as singers of all ages tried for a cash prize and the title.
“It went very well,” Smith said. “It seems like we get a bigger response each year.”
In the 12 and younger division, 10-year-old Megan Braun took first place.
Seventeen-year-old Kayla Adams won in the 13- to 18-year-old division, and Justin Hall won in the adult division.
