Police and sheriff’s deputies were searching for one or more people involved in an armed robbery of an Exxon station at Interstate 85 and Long Ferry Road around 8:30 Monday night.
Initial emergency radio broadcasts identified four to five people involved, leaving the scene in two vehicles.
One man was identified as a tall, slender white man wearing a solid white T-shirt emblazoned with a marijuana leaf.
The broadcast said he displayed a handgun during the robbery.
Vehicles involved were described variously as a black Eagle Talon and a silver Jeep Cherokee.
