Suspect Sifford named in Gold Hill, Spencer armed robberies

Rowan County Sheriff’s investigators are looking for a 31-year-old Salisbury man in connection with armed robberies in Gold Hill and Spencer.
They say Brian Eugene Sifford is considered armed and dangerous and will likely flee from officers.
On Friday afternoon, the Sheriff’s Office released a photograph and description of Sifford, who they say last lived in Salisbury.
Sifford is described as a black man, with black hair and brown eyes. He’s about 6 feet 5 inches tall.
Investigators say he is responsible for the March 17 armed robbery of Gold Hill Market on U.S. 52 in Gold Hill and the March 31 armed robbery of the I-85 Exxon on Long Ferry Road, Spencer.
Department officials ask anyone with information about Sifford of the crimes to call Sgt. C.A. Moose or Investigator J.A. Owens at 704-216-8700 or dial 911.
