Sisters charged with attempted murder

Two teenage sisters from Spencer were charged Thursday with attempting to murder a woman and assaulting a 14-month-old baby with a knife, inflicting serious injury.
Alizabeth Wedeh Wah, 17, and Aimeey Bonyenor Wah, 19, both of 505 N. Salisbury Ave., Spencer, were charged with attempting to murder Arvilee Gaither on Aug. 4, 2008.
They face assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury charges on the baby, according to arrest reports. It is not known if the two victims were related.
Alizabeth Wah was also charged with carrying a concealed weapon ó a 6-inch knife with a 3-inch blade ó into the Rowan County Courthouse and a second count of carrying a concealed weapon. Both offenses are alleged to have occurred on Thursday, the arrest reports say.
She was held under a $375,000 bond.
Aimeey Wah was held under a $300,000 bond.
