Rucker promoted
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office recently promoted School Resource Officer Brian Rucker to lieutenant.
Promoted in April Rucker now supervises deputies, courthouse bailiffs and the deputies working courthouse security.
Rucker began with the Sheriff’s Office as a detention center officer in 1993. He was promoted to lieutenant in the detention center four years later. Rucker served as lieutenant in the jail until 1999. He was the school resource officer at West Rowan High School.
Rucker has an Advanced Law Enforcement Officer’s Certificate from the N.C. Sheriff’s Standards Division and a bachelors degree from Shaw University.
