KANNAPOLIS ó A Kannapolis man was arrested at his home where authorities said he created a meth lab in an outbuilding outside his home. This is the second time he’s been charged with having a meth lab.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, in a joint effort with the Salisbury Police and Kannapolis Police departments, searched the home of Larry Michael Rollins Jr. 38, of 712 Evelyn Ave.
According to a release, Rollins showed up at his home while investigators were still there.
He was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of immediate precursor chemicals with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, maintaining a place for controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. He remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.
This is not Rollins’ first involvement with manufacturing methamphetamine. On Oct. 6, 2004, he was arrested after an investigation by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, Salisbury Police and N.C. SBI. During that incident, a meth lab was located at 815 W. Park Drive. He was convicted in December 2004.
