Second arrest made in Sunday night shooting

CHINA GROVE ó Police have arrested a second man in the Sunday night shooting at an apartment complex off North Main Street.
Late Tuesday night, China Grove Police charged Richard Wade Hinson Jr., 20, 1985 Long Ferry Road, Salisbury, with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
Additional charges of attempted robbery and conspiracy robbery were filed against Dustin Reid Hinson, 225 Shue Road, who was already in the Rowan County Detention Center on charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Police and EMS found Garrett Lane Wilhelm laying in the apartment parking lot at 214 Old Rockwell Road, around 9 p.m. Sunday. He was bleeding profusely from a wound in the leg.
Wilhelm underwent emergency surgery at CMC ń NorthEast to repair a femoral artery.
Police Chief Eddie Kluttz said the robbery charges were added after police were able to interview the victim . Initially, police thought the shooting was domestic in nature, but after interviewing the victim, they determined robbery was the motive.
Kluttz said the Hinsons, who are related, didn’t get any money.
Dustin Hinson is being held on $110,000 bond in the Rowan County Detention Center. Richard Wade Hinson is being held under $125,000 bond.
