Students from Salisbury High School were involved in a minor bus accident late Tuesday night. No serious injuries were reported.
Members of the school’s junior varsity basketball team were traveling from an away game at West Davidson when the incident happened.
Rowan-Salisbury School System spokeswoman Rita Foil confirmed the accident Wednesday, saying the bus driver made too sharp a turn and hit a ditch culvert.
The bus blew a right tire and damaged a rim.
“We sent a replacement bus that arrived 30 minutes after the accident. There were 42 students on the bus,” Foil said.
Salisbury High Principal Windsor Eagle said the accident occurred where Swicegood Road and N.C. 150 meet.
“No one was transported to a medical facility,” he said.
A couple of students complained of neck pain Wednesday, he said.
The bus driver was not injured. No charges were filed.
