Salisbury man charged with assault with a deadly weapon

A Salisbury man was placed under $150,000 secured bond on charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and discharging a firearm into an occupied property.
John Christopher Hyde Jr., 20, of 1601 N. Main St., is scheduled for a first-appearance hearing today in Rowan County District Court, according to arrest reports. Hyde is charged with assaulting Jeremy Motley, of 255 Archer Road, Oct. 30 with a handgun with the intent to kill and inflicting serious injury, the reports said.
Motley was also charged with discharging a handgun into Motley’s residence. Deputy T.M. Maupt of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office was the arresting officer.
