Safety course for experienced motorcycle riders

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, the N.C. Motorcycle Safety Education Program and RideNow Powersports of Concord are offering a safety course for experienced motorcycle riders.
The one-day course will take place Oct. 4 from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at RideNow Powersports, 254 Concord Parkway South. Tuition is $55, with a limit of 12 riders.
To participate, students must have six months or 3,000 miles of riding experience and a valid driver’s license with a motorcycle permit. They must provide their own street-legal, properly licensed, inspected and insured motorcycle and show proof of insurance. All students must wear protective clothing, including NCDOT-approved helmet, eye protection, long sleeve shirt or jacket, full-fingered leather gloves, long pants and over-the-ankle footwear.
Students will learn motorcycle dynamics, traction control, emergency braking, counter steering and counter balancing. The class is offered to provide information to help riders reduce their risk of being involved in crashes.
