Gene Starnes of Gold Hill reported someone stole $600 in items from a building he rents at 13525 U.S. 52, Gold Hill, between Feb. 3 and 6, according to a Rowan County Sheriff’s Office report.

– Jerry Gray Nichols, 44, 170 Sweet Pea Lane, was charged Feb. 7 with assault on a female based on a complaint by Becky Renee Tollie, same address. He was held pending a bond hearing. Trial date is April 7.- Jeremy Edward Austin, 22, 105 Ashley Drive, was charged Feb. 7 with vandalism based on a complaint by Deborah Miller, 105 Ashley Drive, Lot 3. He was released on a written promise to appear in court March 20.
– Carl Anthony Frizzell, 28, 270 Wal Hollow Lane, Mooresville, was charged Feb. 7 with misdemeanor larceny in Concord. He was held under $2,500 secured bond pending a Feb. 27 trial in Cabarrus District Court.
