Canner gauge testing
The Rowan Agriculture Center on Old Concord Road will provide free accuracy testing for pressure canner gauges starting July 2 and continuing through the 21st.
Pressure canner gauges should be tested for accuracy at least once a year. Inaccurate gauges can lead to improperly processed food. Food that is not properly processed may cause food borne illnesses.
Anyone can bring the pressure canner lid with gauge and wait while the testing is done.
The testing will be done Mondays 1 to 4 p.m. only. Call 704-216- 8970 for more information.
Appointments will be available, or anyone who wants testing can stop by the Rowan Agriculture Center during the hours listed.
