Rockwell teen charged with trafficking in opium or heroin

A Rockwell man was jailed Monday on a drug-trafficking charge.
Matthew Allen Callahan, 19, of 210 Grand Oaks Drive, was charged with trafficking opium or heroin and misdemeanor larceny. He was jailed under a $10,000 bond.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office arrested Callahan. Investigators think the offenses occurred on March 10, according to an arrest warrant at the Magistrate’s Office.
Callahan is charged with trafficking between 14 and 28 grams of hydrocodone, an opium derivative, the arrest warrant says.
Callahan is also charged with stealing 30 tablets of hydrocodone worth $60, according to the warrant.
