The Rowan County Republican Party is about to open its 2008 campaign headquarters at 100 W. Innes St.
An opening ceremony will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Friday. Free food will be available and Republican candidates will be on hand.
The party’s mascot, Ronnie the Elephant, will be giving away balloons and stickers for children.
Party Chairman Stephen Kidd said, “I’m very proud of the efforts made to locate an office space that communicates our commitment to support our candidates and their efforts to reach out to potential voters.”
