The Rowan-Cabarrus Community College board of trustees will hold a called meeting Monday to discuss selection of a new president.
At the 4 p.m. meeting, the board’s Personnel Committee will make a recommendation concerning hiring the college’s next president.
The meeting takes place in the North Campus Board Room, located in Building 300, the college’s administration building.
The board has conducted an extensive search process since late 2007 to select and hire Rowan-Cabarrus’ third president. The college’s second president, Dr. Richard L. Brownell, retired May 31 after leading Rowan-Cabarrus for more than 30 years.
Long time senior administrator Jarrett “Jerry” Chandler Jr., is currently serving as interim president and will do so until the new president begins work.
Media representatives are invited to attend and cover the board meeting. Rowan-Cabarrus’ North Campus is located at Jake Alexander Boulevard and I-85 in Salisbury.
In addition, Rowan-Cabarrus provides education and job-training programs for the N.C. Research Campus, now under construction in Kannapolis. The college’s Web site is www.rowancabarrus.edu.
