Police blotter – Officer assaulted trying to break up disturbance

A Salisbury Police officer working security at Waffle House, 936 Jake Alexander Blvd. was assaulted while attempting to defuse a disturbance on Jan. 3.

– East Coast Memorial, 1408 N. Long St. reported a burglary on Jan. 3.
– Brandi Ellis, 1234 Celebration Drive, reported someone broke out the rear door glass on her car sometime on Jan. 3.
– Harold Morris, 715 Hall St., reported his car was vandalized on Jan. 4.
– Richard Grant, 1960 Harrison Rd., reported someone entered his unlocked car and took a mobile multimedia system.
– On Jan. 3, Margaret Hillard reported someone broke into her home at 221 W. Miller St. and removed items.
– On Jan. 3, Linda Sufficool, 405 Lake Drive, reported her home was burglarized.
– On Jan. 3, Antonio McCoy reported three males approached him on Standish St. near Brenner Avenue, forced him to the ground, and snatched his cellular telephone.

– On Jan. 1, Noel Guerrero, 201 Westhaven Way, China Grove, reported someone shot into his home. The bullet went in one side of his house and out the other. There were no injuries. Damage was about $100.
– On Jan. 1, Robert Kluttz, 5135 Statesville Blvd., reported someone broke into his home. Two windows suffered about $400 damage.
– On Jan. 1, Willa Newell reported someone broke into an unoccupied dwelling at 5055 Statesville Blvd. Damage to a window was estimated at $100.

– On Jan. 3, officers responded to a neighborhood disturbance on Kenway Drive in Woodleaf where several people reported they were assaulted by each other. One victim was taken to the hospital with possible back injuries.
– On Jan. 4, Paul Poteat, 1280 Elizabeth Avenue, Kannapolis, reported two cars were broken into at his home. Thieves took money, cell phones and chargers, GPS devices and chargers, and a carton of cigarettes. Total value of the items was given as $480.
