Pfeiffer Relay for Life
MISENHEIMER ó Pfeiffer University will again join the fight against cancer by hosting its annual Relay for Life event set for 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 18-19. This year’s goal is $20,000.
Whether it’s a family member, a neighbor or a friend, any individual can share a story about how the disease has affected them or someone they know. Dozens of these stories will be celebrated during the event. Teams of people will participate in an overnight experience walking or running laps around the circular drive on the front campus adjacent to the Administration Building facing U.S. 52.
The April 18 activities begin with a kick-off event and a cancer survivors’ lap. All survivors are encouraged to attend and participate. There will be entertainment all night, including music, games, a talent show and Karaoke. During the Lighting of the Luminaria ceremony, to begin after nightfall, candles will be lit around the track in memory and in honor of individuals who have had cancer. The public is invited.
Relay for Life is an international event that raises money to aid the American Cancer Society. To participate, register a team or to make a donation, visit http://events.cancer. org/rflstanlync.
