Patrolman promoted
A highway patrolman who has worked in Rowan and Cabarrus counties has been promoted to oversee troopers in Johnston County.
G.H. “Glenn” Stokes was recently promoted to first sergeant.
He was initially assigned to Rowan County in 1989 and later served on the patrol’s Interstate Team until 1998.
In February 2002, Stokes was promoted to sergeant in Cabarrus County and remained there for six years until his promotion this month.
Stokes’ wife, Amy, is a first-grade teacher in Rowan County.
