Partners In Learning has received a $50,000 grant from the Cannon Foundation to fund a kitchen addition to meet its growing needs.
The grant will help provide improved nutrition services for the children.
Partners In Learning is a not-for-profit organization serving as the Model Inclusion Center. The center is the only five-star licensed, nationally accredited program in Rowan and surrounding counties caring for more than 200 children ages 6 weeks-12 years each year.
The program is currently serving 60 children with special needs who are served on-site as well as in their homes.
“We are thrilled with the support our organization has received from the Cannon Foundation,” said Norma W. Honeycutt, executive director. “This generous gift, combined with a grant from the Robertson Foundation for $50,000, will allow us to bring our kitchen up to a high quality standard to meet the needs of our children and help us meet the full costs of providing a high-quality program. This grant will improve opportunities for preschoolers at risk in our community by providing the nutritious meals necessary for their growing bodies.”
