Because Tropical Storm Hanna has rendered this weekend’s weather uncertain, organizers have cancelled Saturday’s scheduled opening of the Rogers Lake Road extension to the Kannapolis Parkway.
The road will open for regular traffic on Monday, however.
Kellswater developers and Merrifield Partners will announce further developments at a later date.
The developers and city officials had planned to observe the new connector with a 10 a.m. mile fun run, refreshments and entertainment. The developers had promised to have other announcements about projects at that time.
