Orene Carpenter
Orene Elizabeth Carpenter, 88, 503 Ford St., died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Carolina Medical Center-NorthEast, Concord.
Born Nov. 30, 1919, in Anson County, Mrs. Carpenter was the daughter of the late Wilbur Atlas and Nora Horne Carpenter.
A resident of the area since 1941, she worked 42 years in the Sheet Department of Cannon Mills Plant 1, retiring in in 1984. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include sisters Edith McSwain and Sylvia Kirkley, both of Kannapolis.
A service was held Friday, March 14, 2008, at Calvary Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Joel Ervin and the Rev. Max Smith. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.
