The Rowan County Board of Elections voted unanimously today not to extend the early voting period past 1 p.m. Saturday.
Only two voting sites will be open in Rowan Saturday, the last day for early voting before Tuesday’s general election. Those sites are at the Board of Elections Office, 130 W. Innes St., Salisbury, and the Rowan Public Library headquarters, 201 W. Fisher St., Salisbury. Hours are 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
Some other counties have extended the voting hours for Saturday because of the large number of people who are taking advantage of early voting.
